Monthly Report for the Parishes


Month: Feb 1st – 28th

Wickham Bishops

Tree Down 03/02/2009
WITHAM RD. A tree was reported to have fallen in the above road causing an obstruction. Council workers attended and removed the tree.

RTC 04/02/2009
BEACON HILL. Due to weather conditions Beacon Hill suffered black ice causing two collisions involving cars. No injuries were sustained but bushes by the road side were damaged.

THE STREET. Minor car collision, one vehicle striking another’s wing mirror. No injuries were sustained.

RTC 04/02/2009
BEACON HILL. Reported that a vehicle had collided with a hedge outside a premises. No injuries and police did not attend as the vehicle was off the road and not causing an obstruction.

ANIMAL 06/02/2009
MAYPOLE RD. Four horses were seen loose in Wickham Bishops, from maypole rd, Holt drive, Great Totham rd. Horses were later secured in a garden and the owner came to collect.

TREE DOWN 07/02/2009
BLUE MILLS HILL. A small branch had fallen into the road causing a slight obstruction and vehicles both directions to swerve into opposing lanes.

RTC 11/02/2009
STATION RD. A three vehicle RTC causing a complete obstruction to road. Ambulance called for one person. No other persons were injured and all vehicles recovered.

RTC 12/02/2009
STATION RD. Reported that a car was on its roof and one persons trapped within.
The above road was closed due to black ice covering the entire road. The trapped person suffered no injuries

Fail to Stop RTC 17/02/2009
THE STREET. A witness saw one car strike another’s wing mirror whilst parked outside SIGNS in the above road. The culprit vehicle drove off without stopping.

A total of 15 calls were made to police from Wickham Bishops in the month of February.




Great Totham

Suspicious Circumstances 01/02/2009
MALDON RD. Reported that a male was trying to gain entry by force into the village stores. Upon Police arrival no entry had been gained and no one was seen in the area.

Theft 02/02/2009
HARVEY RD. Heating oil has been reported stolen from a tank from a rear garden. Approximately half a tank had been removed amounting near to £300. Enquiries ongoing.

ANIMAL 04/02/2009
BROAD STREET GREEN. 3 horses had been reported running loose. Upon police arrival there were no signs of loose horses.

RTC 11/02/2009
MOUNTAINS RD. One vehicle reported to have come off the road and landed up side down in a ditch. The driver was unhurt and organised his own recovery.

Fail to stop RTC 11/02/2009
BROAD STREET GREEN. One vehicle reported to have ‘lost it’ and come off the road colliding with a road sign and fencing of an address. The vehicle did not stop but later reported the collision at Maldon Police station.

NUISANCE-YOUTH 12/02/2009
STAPLERS HEATH. Reported that snowballs with stones within were being thrown at houses. Due to adverse weather conditions police would only attend to emergencies. No further calls were received.

RTC 13/02/2009
MOUNTAINS RD. One vehicle causing an obstruction after coming off the road due to severe ice on the road. No injuries were sustained.

NUISANCE-YOUTH 17/02/2009
BROAD STREET GREEN. Reported that youths were on a shared drive smoking and causing a general nuisance. Youths left shortly after police were called.

Theft 25/02/2009
BROADOAK CH. A secure car trailer had been removed by persons unknown. Enquiries ongoing.



FIREARM SEEN 25/02/2009
COLCHESTER RD. Person reporting that a male on a quad bike had a shotgun like weapon. The last sighting of this person was on a field off Braxted lane. No other sighting reported or calls made to police.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE 26/02/2009
FOSTER RD Reported that a tyre of informant vehicle had been slashed intentionally.

RTC 12/02/2009
STATION RD. Reported that a car was on its roof and one persons trapped within.
The above road was closed due to black ice covering the entire road. The trapped person suffered no injuries

A total of 22 calls were made to police from Great Totham.




Little Totham

BURGLARY 06/02/2009
FIELD VIEW DR. No signs of forced entry but reported that an address has been turned upside down. Many items stolen including house hold electrical equipment.

NUISANCE-YOUTH 12/02/2009
THE STREET. Reported that a number of youths were playing chicken in the road on bikes causing a danger to themselves and road users.

NUISANCE- VEHICLE 21/02/2009
SCHOOL RD. Reported that two quad bike were causing a noise nuisance driving past address.



Great Braxted

ROAD CONDITIONS 07/02/2009
BRAXTED PARK RD. Reported that the road was completed covered in ice.

THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE 10/02/2009
BRAXTED PARK RD. Between the times of 10pm and 7am reported that a vehicle had been stolen. Enquiries ongoing.

ROAD FLOODING 11/02/2009
BRAXTED PARK RD. Between Tiptree and Rivenhall End by Braxted Hall the road was completed flooded. One vehicle was seen to be broken down in the water.

RTC 17/02/2009
TIPTREE RD. One vehicle colliding with a fence. No injuries sustained and the driver organised their own recovery.

A total of 6 calls were made to police from Great Braxted.



Little Braxted


SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES 21/02/2009
KELVEDON RD. One male was seen acting suspiciously in a car. Driving up to address the driving away numerous times. Got out of the vehicle and returned 10 minutes later. Generally acting suspiciously.
