December Bullet-in

You might like to look at the Essex Police Website http://213.210.6.88/index.php

Season’s Greetings to our residents.

We had a coordinators’ meeting recently where we met our NPT officer PC Bagley. We are hoping for a Public meeting in the spring. We discussed some crime prevention issues, like putting out rubbish bins shortly before they are to be emptied, as ID thieves sometimes rummage at night. Cars being defrosted are vulnerable to theft, so don’t leave them running unattended. Don’t leave valuables on display in the cars, or presents under the tree.

From January 8th, the structure of the NPT is changing slightly, which means Great Totham Neighbourhood Policing Team will gain another PCSO and another officer.

We are hoping for blanket coverage for newsletters at least, of Great Totham South. The idea is that people with Email can receive the information and newsletters, and print out a few copies for their immediate neighbours. We need coverage in the Colliers development, the new complex where the school was, Catchpole lane, Playle Chase, amongst others. Could you help with this? If so, please contact us via the shop. Thanks

(This info is aimed at residents of Great Totham South but if you’d like to be added to the list, but live elsewhere, you’re welcome. Please ask. The information sent out is generally posted here, anyway.)

I recently attended a District NHW Meeting, at which we had Crime Reduction Officer’s Ray Stannard’s Report

At the moment the theft of ST models of Ford cars has risen in Essex and our District. Please be vigilant if you own one of these as people are burgling the house to get the keys, are not taking anything else whilst inside the house, and then are stealing the car outside.

As November has been a relatively quiet month in our villages I will circulate details of the Telephone Preference Scheme and the Mailing Preference Scheme, to help stop nuisance cold calling and junk mail respectively.

Telephone Preference Scheme - call 0845 070 0707.

Mailing Preference Scheme - call 0845 7034 599.
