Welcome

We would like to welcome Pc Michele Oliver who takes over as Neighbourhod Specialist Officer North Blackwater Villages (Great Totham) Neighbourhood on 8th December. Pc Oliver is very keen on the role and will be attending our AGM in Monday 8th December.

Index plates
The index plates from a blue VW Golf were stolen between the afternoon of 22 November and 1.00pm on 23 November. Information to Southminster Police Station.

This is the third theft of number plates in 2 weeks – previous thefts are not just from Burnham. If anyone looks suspicious around the area of a car, please contact the police immediately.



Maldon

Overnight on 19/20 November, at Downs Road, a secure silver Rover Metro CD was stolen from outside a property. Information to Pc Sonia Mirrington.

A brick was thrown through the front window of the Tavern Garage, The Causeway, overnight on 17/18 November, causing £300 damage. Information to Pc Sonia Mirrington.

Late afternoon on 21 November, a blue BMX bike, which was left on the ground outside a house in St Peters Avenue, was stolen. Information to Pc Richard Pateman.

A pedal cycle was stolen from the rear yard of WH Smiths, High Street, about 11.00am on 21 November. Information to Maldon Police Station.

The main entrance door at St Peters Hospital was forced overnight on 20/21 November. Nothing was taken (as far as can be ascertained). Information to Pc Alison King.

The front door of the UK Fish Bar, Royal Court was kicked in at 11.15pm on 22 November. Information to Maldon Police Station.

Overnight on 17/18 November, a light blue Nissan Micra was damaged in Victoria Road, when the top half of the rear nearside door was bent in an effort to gain entry. Information to Maldon Police Station.

Overnight on 18/19 November, on Market Hill, the front offside window and front offside door locked were damaged on a parked white Ford Fiesta. Information to Maldon Police Station.

At 2112 on 17 November on London Road a white European male was arrested for possession of an offensive weapon – a Stanley knife was found in his front jumper pocket. He has now been charged.


Heybridge

Overnight on 19/20 November, from a house in Creasen Butt Close, a locked GT Vertigo blue pedal cycle was stolen from the garden of the property. Information to Pc Sonia Mirrington.

Purse dipping is still a problem. A new problem is the theft of numberplates. marine thefts are still a problem. Bikes are still being stolen... sometimes ths chains are being cut through, but often these are not secured.

AGM

Great Totham South Neighbourhood Watch AGM will be held in Great Totham Village Hall on Monday 8th December 7.00pm onwards.

Great Totham
During the day on November 5, at a house in Maldon Road, thieves stole a gas bottle, from outside the front of the house, by cutting the connecting pipe. Damage estimated at £200, value of gas bottle is £30.

Maldon
Between October 28 and November 4, a shed was broken into in Warwick Close and two bicycles were stolen. Any information to Maldon Police Station please.

Late on the night of 9 November, in Wentworth Meadows, damage was caused to a white Citroen Berlingo and a Land Rover Discovery 944.

Overnight on 8/9 November, on Fambridge Road, a green Volvo 850 SE was damaged when the front windscreen wiper was bent upwards.

At Maldon Road, Langford, between 1 and 2 pm on 4 November, a blue Mercedes Sprinter was broken into, causing £150 of damage. Any information to Pc Andrew Long.

On November 4, around 8.00am, someone entered the yard of Banyards Taxi and Minibus, The Causeway, by scaling the fence. They broke into a Ford Transit van, ripped out the panels and stole various parts, valued at £1000. Any information to Pc Lea Keene.

On 6 November at 1.00pm, a male stole perfume from Superdrug. He is described as a white male, in his 30’s, around 6’ tall, large build, with light brown short hair, a scar on his left cheek, and wearing a dark green jacket and jeans.

Around 1.30pm on November 5, a purse was stolen from the handbag of an elderly lady, whilst she was in Peacocks. She had put her handbag onto the floor whilst she was looking through a clothing rail. When she got into Poundstretchers, she discovered the purse was missing.

Around 1.55pm, an elderly lady on a mobility scooter, had her purse stolen in Peacocks. One female distracted her, whilst the other unzipped her handbag, which was in the basket at the front of the scooter, taking her purse, bank cards and a bus pass. The suspect is described as being a white female, in her early 20’s, about 5’322 tall, slim build, with a foreign accent, wearing a black hat and coat. Any information to Ovais Chaudry at Maldon Police Station.

At around 5.00pm on the same day, a purse was stolen from a customer in Iceland, after she left the purse at the till.

Tollesbury
Overnight on November 3/4, persons unknown attempted to force entry into a unit on the Industrial Estate at Woodrolfe Road. They were unsuccessful in gaining entry but did tag a window “TC”. If anyone knows who the tag belongs to, please contact Pc Richard Hamilton.

Between 4/5 November, at East Street, a white Fiat Ducato van was broken into.

Children in Need Scam

Not in our area yet, but just so you are aware;

Reports have been received concerning an individual who has been calling door-to-door in the Shoebury area claiming to be running for Children in Need and asking for sponsorship up front. He is unable to provide any paperwork, when challenged.



Please be on your guard. As far as is known he has so far been unsuccessful in obtaining any money. Lets keep it that way. Any sightings etc should be reported to the police immediately on 0300 333 4444. No description currently available except he is male, white and in his 20s

Great Totham

During the day of 29 October, in Maldon Road, an air rifle and carrying bag, worth £1,000, were stolen. Information to Pc Patrick Snape.


Danbury

On 30 October, at a house in Moor Hall Lane, someone walked in the insecure back door, whilst the owners were in the house, and took the keys to a Silver Toyota Landcruiser, which they then drove away.
Please warn everyone not to leave car keys on view or to hand and make sure doors are secured, especially after dark.
